Father and Son Reunited After Kidnapping
24 years ago, Guo Xinzhen was kidnapped from his front yard by human traffickers. Guo’s father vowed to never stop searching for his son.
The event happened in 1997 when Guo was kidnapped from his home in Shandong, China, by a female suspect named Tang. Tang and her partner sold Guo to a neighboring province called Henan.
True to his word, Guo’s father traveled over 310,000 miles on his motorbike. His dedication to finding his son inspired the film “Lost and Love.”
“Only on the road, I felt I am a father,” he told the Shandong-based Qilu News in 2015 before the movie was released. “I have no reason to stop (searching). And it’s impossible for me to stop.”
But it wasn’t until recently when genetic testing was able to track down and confirm Guo as the missing son.
The reunification was able to be broadcasted on Chinese state television CCTV. Father and son exchanged a tearful embrace, and Guo’s mother could be heard saying “My baby, you came back.”
Guo’s father proudly told the watching audience, “Now that the child has been found, everything can only be happy from now on.”
